This is a high-quality stereo recording of the ambient noises inside of a quiet swiss train wagon while travelling at high speed (around 200km/h). You can hear:- how the wagon rolls on the tracks. - the squeaks and cracks of the wagon. - very faint voices from other passengers in the same wagon.

After a rain storm, if it's a hot day the mist will rise, particularly in my river valley. There are railroad tracks on the far side of the valley from where i live, about five miles distant. In damp air the sound really carries. This file is unmodified.

This was a recording taken on a small train riding around the louisville zoo in kentucky, usa. I took this towards the end of the tour, and was on the back of the train so you can hear the announcer quite clearly directing us. Near where i do many of my favorite nature recordings there are train tracks which can ocassionally be very busy -- and yes, sometimes they have interfered with some of my nature recordings. But, recently i recorded the sound of the approaching train carrying loads of coal. It was around dusk and breezy -- melancholy combination. . . . I really love the echo of the whistle. . . . Recorded on a ipad, which seems to pick up background noise from the subway system. Sorry about that. I am on the train, it stops, i get out and hear an announcement on the other side. This station has two tracks, one running in either direction. Generally, when you hear an announcement, you hear mandarin first (woman's voice), cantonese next (slightly different woman's voice), then english in a man's voice. This is line 1 in downtown shenzhen. Interestingly, the next train going in the same direction of the one i got off, arrives within the time of this recording, about 1. 5 minutes later.

Believe it or not, this is a recording of a hospital reception bathroom. Recorded in mono on a samsung galaxy s10+ so the quality isn't the best, but i did some eq, some processing to make it sound more stereo, and some metallic convolution reverb, but other than that this is basically the sound as i heard it.
